“Change is the only constant in life.” — Heraclitus
I think it’s fair to say 2021 was a year of sudden change, followed quickly by protracted predictability.
Despite the 3.5-month period Aucklanders spent staring at their screens (or ceilings), Naked Audience was fortunate to have a good year.
On top of helping a range of new and returning clients transform their speaking skills, a few highlights of the year include:
On a different note, here are some sources of inspiration from 2021:
Focus on the inputs, and the outputs will take care of themselves.
Sleep is the answer.
Play the long game.
Look for opportunities that have limited downside and unlimited upside.
Create space for sensory walks. Stop to smell, listen, look, and touch.
Multi-tasking is a myth.
If it was easy everyone would do it.
Smile at strangers. They might just need it.
People don’t buy coaching, they buy transformation. Sell the holiday, not the plane ride.
Pain + reflection = progress
In keeping with the theme of change I will leave you with this:
The Dalai Lama walks up to a vendor who is selling hamburgers and says, "Make me one with everything."
The vendor hands him one and says, "Four bucks."
The Dalai Lama gives him a $5 bill, and waits to receive his change -- but the vendor ignores him.
The Dalai Lama finally asks, "Where's my change?"
The burger vendor replies, "Change must come from within."
Have a blessed summer break folks. Sincerest thanks for your support throughout the year.
Regards,
Miriam
PS I’ll leave this image here as a hint for what’s emerging next year…
